A WARM CABIN STYLE MAKEOVER FOR THIS AURORA MASTER BATHROOM

When this client, a First Responder, requested a look to fit with their home’s cabin-inspired style, our design team was ready to assist! Warm colors, natural textures, and attention to the smallest details were key to creating a cozy atmosphere.

Each element works together, and color choices were important. For example, the choice of Kohler fixtures: The Devonshire style’s curved lines and fluted bases are beautiful on their own, but really sing in the Oil Rubbed Bronze finish. The design of the Highline Comfort Height Toilet also fits well in this new space.

J&J removed the existing shower/tub combo to create the new shower. In doing so, all sorts of natural looks came together for a dramatically rustic bathing experience. Once again, Kohler Devonshire fixtures are used. Lining the walls, easy-care porcelain tile in Stone Rust and Place Rust has stone-like veins, and the tile shading is designed to mimic the movement of light on rock surfaces. Unlike real stone, however, porcelain tile is a breeze to keep clean!

Front glass shower doors allow for more light and add a spacious feel to the shower. In the corner, the homeowners also added a granite-topped foot rest and shower niches for extra storage.

The Bertch vanity cabinet, mirror, and wall cabinet have additional, carefully curated color and style choices. The homeowners selected the Osage door style with a clean, cabin-style look. The Oakwood Harvest stain in a semi-gloss finish is topped by a richly hued granite slab. Coffee Brown is richly flecked with veins and specks of brown – ranging from deep espresso to cappuccino!  This granite has a touch of sparkle that helps light up spaces such as bathrooms. It was also used on the shower foot rest.

Another subtle touch – the homeowners chose Almond for their sink, toilet, and wall plates color – a warmer tone that looks terrific with the granite, fixtures, and cabinetry!
