This first-floor room addition is neat, complete, and replete with great features. As separate living quarters for a family member, our homeowners needed a space-saving floor plan that facilitates independent living.
The J&J design team helped select harmonious, light colors and accents that make these living quarters feel spacious and bright. Outside, our crews installed siding and roofing that blended seamlessly with the home’s existing exterior. Let’s take a look at this sleek space!
Woodharbor Breeze cabinets were a key part of this new addition, helping maximize storage and providing color contrast. The paneled style matches the new Pella windows and doors and is used throughout the apartment. The Simply White paint and flat drawer fronts maintain a clean look without a cookie-cutter feel. Invisible, but still important: The soft-close drawers and cabinet doors that are quiet and easy to use for the occupant.
The custom bathroom has loads of desirable features in a compact footprint. Kohler products were installed throughout. The glass-doored custom shower uses a towel bar/handle combo to save space, while the grab bar ensures stability for the occupant. The shower fixtures in the best-selling Polished Chrome finish blend with the grey-toned tiles, providing a nice contrast of textures. Fray Gray tile was selected for both the walls and shower floors, with a coordinating grout in Mist.
Other space-saving and important details: the shower seat, recessed storage niche, and wall-mounted Kohler shower hardware, which includes a hand-held spray unit that stores in the corner.
The bathroom vanity is topped by New Caledonia Granite with ¼ round edge detail – you’ll also see this on the shower seat. Kohler’s classic white Caxton oval sink is topped with their Devonshire Centerset sink faucet that carries out the grey color scheme. Elsewhere, the matching Devonshire knobs and towel bar add a touch of the Polished Chrome finish to the walls and Woodharbor Breeze cabinets. Behr’s soft Graceful Grey wall paint completes the soothing colorway for the room.
A bright and light corner bedroom takes advantage of the light with the new Pella windows. New vinyl plank flooring in a darker grey-toned wood look grounds the space, while Benjamin Moore Regal paint in Twinkle Blue captures the feel of soft morning light, no matter what the weather is outside!
The kitchenette packs all the features the resident needs into a compact, easy-to-use space. Our team maximized storage with the Woodharbor Breeze line, custom wall cabinets built to the ceiling. Finished with crown molding, this extra touch helps elevate the room and adds height. An additional cabinet was also installed behind the door to tuck in some additional shelf space.
Countertops here are also finished with sparkling New Caledonia granite – a distinguished blend of grey tones that pulls out the various shades of cabinet hardware, floors, and the Behr Graceful Grey walls.
