BIGGER AND BRIGHTER WITH A MASTER BEDROOM AND BATH ADDITION
Sometimes the need to stretch out and feel the possibilities in your current home can take a literal turn. This Master Bedroom and Bathroom Addition did just that. The outcome of this remodeling project left the homeowners with an abundance of space and natural light while blending in easily with the existing floorplan.
Located off the front entry, this new space took advantage of a corner location to add a sweeping expanse of luxurious hardwood floors, a lofted ceiling, and an all-new master bathroom. Using a red oak hardwood floor as a starting point, the homeowners selected a soft and sweet cream color for their wall paint. A crisp white brings out the baseboards, doors, and other trim, and matches the new ceiling fan and light fixtures. The overall effect is bright and inviting – taking advantage of the natural light and well-placed windows that were already part of the home.
Echoes of the hallway’s green wall paint show up in the sparkling new bath. Here, a subtle wash of color accentuates the tint of the upgraded ½” thick shower glass. Inside the shower: an abundance of features, luxed-up with the choice of tile and trim. Eon’s Eldorado tile is a tough porcelain with all the great looks of marble, including the veining and soft color gradients.
The homeowners chose to add a granite-topped bench and double wall niches to their new shower, finishing off with Kohler Devonshire chrome shower attachments and showerhead.
The same granite: Luna Bordeaux, can also be seen on the vanity top. Here, the swirling browns and creams of this softly grained stone are the perfect counterpart to the Bertch Cabinets. These premium construction cabinets feature the Romano door style and a warm ginger finish.
Topping off the vanity, a Kohler Caxton oval sink and Kohler Devonshire sink faucet in chrome match the shower fixtures and trim. It’s a refreshing, updated look that looks utterly modern – just like the rest of this inviting room addition!
