If you’re getting a sense of airy optimism from this master bathroom project portfolio, you’re definitely on the same page as our Plainfield homeowners! They were ready to make some big changes in their master bathroom – and this particular transformation is a stunner.
By reconfiguring the layout of this bathroom, removing some features to make room for improvements, and leaving the best parts in place, J&J helped the owners to create a truly custom space. Before, an unused third sink, a small shower, and an oversized soaking tub were occupying some valuable floor space.
After evaluating the needs for the master bathroom, our team removed these fixtures and set to work on a more efficient and luxurious space. First, the new spacious shower and tub area pulls together several popular choices – all in a soothing color palette of greys and creams.
The focal point of this master bath – and the biggest source of its Wow Factor – is the new wet room. Our team expanded the existing shower to create this oversized luxury destination. A key part of the process was adding high quality waterproofing to the entire area. In a room like this, J&J uses only the best, including the Schluter waterproofing system.
The Sterling Spectacle freestanding tub is one of our most popular client choices. With a sleek look, wide ledge, and comfortable lumbar support, it’s a beautiful addition to any styleway. The new location in the spacious shower/wet room saves space and cleaning time.
Throughout, the walls are lined with Breccia Silver 12×24 porcelain tile – a look that adds subtle interest and several color tones to the room. Above the tub, the existing window continues to highlight the area and bring in plenty of natural light.
Opposite, a major shower upgrade continues to add to the spa-like feel of this bath. The homeowners selected Kohler Forte shower fixtures in a chrome finish and created a lavish shower experience with a new 10” square rainfall showerhead. Other luxe touches include a shower bench seat, shower threshold, and wall top covered in deeper-toned HanStone Aramis Quartz.
Upgraded ½’ thick shower glass encloses the wet room – adding stability and a high-end look and feel. Grounding the space – another Breccia tile is used on the shower floor: this one is Breccia Noir 2×2 mosaic.
New Bertch cabinets in a crisp white semi-gloss finish continue the bright new look in this remodel. With Premium construction quiet, soft-close drawers and doors, and a sophisticated Osage cabinet front style, the new vanity cabinet and linen storage are light and modern. Topped with more Aramis Quartz, the new double sink area looks utterly new. Kohler Devonshire faucets in chrome are a top choice with our clients and look fantastic with the Bliss Iceland linear-style glass and stone tile backsplash. (You’ll also see this in the shower storage inset!)
On the walls, Benjamin Moore Regal Brand wall paint in Chilly Blue is sheer bliss – it’s a cool-toned color that looks spectacular under the room’s skylights. Below, Relate Veil 12×24 floor tile with matching bullnose trim creates a softly textured look underfoot.
The variety of tiles and subtle color shifts were key to keeping the mood serene, but not boring. Note the beautiful range of greys in the countertop, flooring, walls, and backsplash. The rich, highly grained tiles on the shower floor (Breccia Noir) continue playing with the beauty of natural stone. The darker mosaic is practical, but is a key player in the overall look of this master bathroom remodel.
A top item for the homeowners was more closet space. Utilizing the new floorplan, J&J added much-needed room in the master bedroom closet. Our team also installed new vinyl flooring and case trim.
