Aurora Master Bath Project

This Aurora master bath remodel uses a soft color palette and subtle stone patterns for a soothing effect. Before, the room lost valuable floor space to an oversized tub and a built-in bench. Now, it’s a well-designed retreat!

Aurora Master Bath Project

The J&J design team was able to show the homeowners how their new space would look with a virtual model of the room. With the changes we proposed, including moving walls and replacing fixtures, this helped everyone have a clear picture of the exciting upgrades.

By removing the old tub, the bathroom opened up dramatically, putting the focus on a new freestanding Sterling Spectacle soaking tub. The tub deck faucet choice is a sleek design from Kohler: Alteo, in Polished Chrome.

A literal big change took place when we replaced the shower. Formerly a smaller stall unit that was tucked into a corner, it’s now a whole new experience! We took out the closet located between the old shower and the toilet to make room for a new, larger enclosure.

Now, there’s space for a shower bench, as well as a 12 x 18 shower wall niche for storage and convenience. The homeowners selected nature-inspired looks to work with their new color palette. Shower walls are finished in a lightly patterned tile: Mayfair Strada Ash Matte. The floor was a distinctive choice: Island Stone Cobbles in Sterling Grey. The natural stone look is a perfect complement to this room’s style.

To finish it off, our clients chose a rich granite with gorgeous veining: Special Alaska White. This is a wonderful choice, as the colors are predominantly white and silver mixed with rich blacks and other neutral shades. This versatile shade was used for the shower wall top, threshold, and shower bench.

Shower fixtures are also from the Alteo line in their Polished Chrome finish. The Rite-Temp® shower trim set with push-button diverter and a handheld unit work beautifully with the grey shades of tile and granite.

Continuing the transformation: The bathroom cabinets and vanity were extended, using the floor space that opened upon removal of the old tub. For a lighter, fresher look, the homeowners selected white for their new Bertch Cabinets with the Riverside door and drawer style. The twin sinks are the sleek Kohler Caxton Rectangle style, with Alteo Widespread Polished Chrome faucets.

Anchoring the look, large 12 x 24 floor tiles in Caesar Slab Snow keep the overall feel of this new space cool and easy. On the walls, Benjamin Moore Sheep’s Wool 857 pulls all the gorgeous neutral tones together and provides a crisp background for the new mirrors, light fixtures, and any artwork added by the Aurora homeowners.

Happy remodeling!
