This Plainfield master bathroom remodel uses a whole range of creamy tones for a roomy, tailored makeover. J&J Construction worked closely with the homeowners to create their wish list items like more storage and ample countertop space, as well as a luxury shower with great amenities.
The original bathroom plan only provided enough room for one shared sink and a limited amount of storage. With a shower on the same wall as the vanity, and a bathtub occupying the opposite wall, space was limited.
The homeowners were ready to remove the bathtub, which made big changes possible. In its place, we installed a new shower, loaded with features.
On the walls, Expression Horizon Glossy 4×16 Subway Tiles keep it bright and low-maintenance. The homeowners chose polished chrome fixtures to match the soft, elegant greys in the granite trim. A Kohler Devonshire® Rite-Temp® shower trim with 2.5 gpm showerhead and matching hand shower attachment provide comfortable showers with temperatures that don’t fluctuate.
Situated on the same shower wall, a custom shower niche is lined with Excelsior Pebble Matte Basketweave 2×2 Mosaic, as is the shower floor. The change in pattern makes for a shower interior with a touch of pizazz.
Finishing out the new shower: a roomy bench adds comfort and style. The bench top uses the same HanStone Quartz material in the Rocky Shores design you’ll see in the rest of the bathroom. The polished finish has a dynamic pattern that pulls this master bath design together.
Removing the old shower that once stood to the left of the vanity was a real game-changer for this space. After taking out the wall that formerly separated them, we were able to expand the vanity counter area and add a set of his-and-hers sinks.
Along with this shift – new storage! The homeowners now have cabinets extending to the ceiling in the center of the twin sinks. New three-lamp light fixtures mounted on the same Expression Horizon subway tiles keep it looking chic and simple.
Kohler faucets and sinks set off the HanStone Quartz countertops perfectly. Each side features a Kohler Verticyl Rectangle Sink and Kohler Memoirs Stately Vanity Faucets.
Finishing out this complete transformation, a Kohler Highline Comfort Height Toilet was installed. The homeowners’ choice of floor tile in Excelsior Pebble Matte 12×24 kept up the lighter look of their new space and gives a perfect background to a new rug selection.
