Woodridge Kitchen Rejuvenation

This Woodridge home had sufficient space, but it needed to be reconfigured to fit the family’s lifestyle. One of the first tasks on our agenda: Remove the peninsula in order to create a stunning custom center island. Homeowners prefer a more convenient island so that friends and family can move around it with ease.
Offering ample counter space and bright finishes, this kitchen offers cabinets from the Woodharbor Breeze line: Stockman doors and Manor flat soft close doors and drawers were a desired upgrade. The cabinet color is in Simply White, a classic coastal finish that instantly modernizes the formerly dark space.
We removed the old soffits and brought the white cabinets to the ceiling, creating a space that seems much larger than it did previously. The crown molding you see is in the traditional crown style, which is always a lovely detail that draws people’s eyes up. Adding nine canister lights improved the room’s overall lighting. Recessed lights have a low profile, ideal for low ceilings and areas where waterproof fixtures are needed.
This is a quartz countertop in Hanstone Fusion. This shade of gray blends with warm whites to create a focal point for this kitchen space. Quartz is going to offer durability and elegance for years. A look at the difference between standby granite countertops and quartz can be found here.
A backsplash certainly serves a practical purpose, but it’s also the perfect place to show a little bit of personality in your kitchen. This backsplash from the Soho Gallery in Grey Glossy consists of 3×6 subway tiles installed in a herringbone pattern above the cooktop. When you have a cooktop this beautiful, a decorative backsplash can draw attention to it.
An innovative fit for a variety of kitchen tasks, this Kohler faucet in Simplice vibrant stainless combines functionality with elegance sure to work nicely with many different kitchen aesthetics. The Blanco Precis Double Equal Cinder sink you see here is a no-hole composite double bowl undermount sink. An undermount sink provides a flat surface, making work area cleanup simple, and composite is going to be a modern, durable material. This sink is heat, scratch, stain, chip, and impact resistant–perfect for a kitchen.
What you walk on every day is equally as important as your countertops and cabinets. After all, the kitchen is a high traffic area. We’ve selected a floor tile in Slab Coke Matte, 12×24 tiles. Slab is characterized by a slightly textured surface with a soft touch, in colors that range from traditional dark shades to bright hues. This expression of classic architecture perfectly balances the natural and contemporary design.
The paint on these walls is Benjamin Moore’s Regal Brand in Pelican Grey, 1612. This is a color we come back to over and over because it works with a variety of room designs and finishes. It is light but still provides a little bit of depth and interest. You can easily compliment this wall color with accent colors in towels, artwork, etc.
Last but certainly not least, take notice of these gorgeous Towne mini pendant lights. Tapered shades in clear seedy glass pair effortlessly with the body’s brushed nickel finish. What a contemporary, polished finish to this beautiful kitchen remodel.
