When clients approach J&J Construction with an idea for a bathroom remodel, we marry their vision with our years of expertise, and the finished product always satisfies. It’s important for us to focus on the space and the way it will be used, style preferences, convenient features, great functionality, plenty of storage, and timeless, gorgeous finishes.
We recently had the pleasure of giving this hall bathroom a facelift, and the result is bright, functional, and fresh. While the bathroom’s footprint did not change, we updated everything from the floor up. The family now gets to enjoy significantly more storage and a spacious countertop. This fresh design is an aesthetic that will stay classic for years to come.
The focal point of most bathrooms is a vanity, and in this case your eyes are immediately drawn to the long quartz countertop in crisp Tofino. This color is cool and casual, delivering a balance of softness and sophistication. This countertop will remain uncluttered due to ample storage in the Bertch cabinets in Birchwood. The Kona color is in a matte sheen and offers a rich contrast to the light countertop. Cabinet knobs are rounded in a nickel tone and go well with the Kohler brushed nickel vanity faucet. This vanity is a beauty, and craves a pop of color that owners can change out based on season or mood. We personally love the touch of bright pink flowers.
Above the rectangular white sink, a Kohler Caxton, you’ll notice a four sconce, brushed nickel vanity light from the Kohler Memoirs series. This elegant design was inspired by architecture and crown molding, and pairs perfectly with the other chosen bathroom finishes. Not sure how to select bathroom lighting? Providing even more hidden storage is a new 16×20 Kohler recessed medicine cabinet blended seamlessly with a custom vanity mirror. Practical and beautiful.
There was a linen closet to the left of the vanity, and we felt this could easily work with the new design, so this is one element we kept in place. The only additional touch here was a brushed nickel hook for an additional towel or robe. You can never have too many spots to place things.
Look around and you’ll see 12×24 classic Carrara tiles from the Trilogy collection on both the flooring and walls. This is a bright white color but offers rich variations in shade for interest and depth. Inspired after the most sought-out European white marbles, it is refined and elegant: no trip to Italy or Greece needed! Bullnose baseboards give this bathroom a finished look.
A large 60×30 white tub from the Sterling Ensemble series by Kohler allows the youngest members of this family to take a bath, or the adults to take a soak after a long day. Delivering a sleek, ergonomic design, this bathtub provides maximum soaking comfort while providing lumbar support and a deep bathing area. The brushed nickel curved and adjustable shower rod by Moen will blend in with the clean design, and the 12×28 wall niche offers storage for bottles and such. We’ve also included a corner shelf in the shower, a Schluter stainless pentagon shape with square design.
The brushed nickel theme continues with shower plumbing from the Kohler Devonshire collection. This shower trim includes a water-saving showerhead with air-induction spray. There is also a pressure-balancing valve that maintains desired water temperature during pressure fluctuations.
Final touches include Kohler wall accessories like hooks and a towel bar in Coralais brushed nickel and Origami White paint color in eggshell sheen. Always stick with a sheen paint in bathrooms instead of matte since it’s easier to clean and resists moisture.
We’ve replaced their dated toilet with an elongated highline toilet from Kohler. This new comfort-height option provides maximum comfort and superior performance. Its versatile style compliments any bathroom design.
