NAPERVILLE BATHROOM WITH A REGAL FLAIR

This month we are featuring a Naperville home built in the mid-70s. It once had an octagon-shaped floor tile in a yellow/gold tone and 4×4 glossy white shower tile that gave away it’s decades-old age. The over-the-mirror light was traded out for two sconces on each side of the mirror creating the perfect light for make-up application. The broken and worn-out white vanity was replaced with a new and modern Bertch cabinet. It was finished in Sable stain and dressed with the classic Villager door style. HanStone quartz counter, with a Kohler Caxton undermount sink, and Devonshire faucet sit regally atop this cabinet completing the look.  A stunning Marmo-D custom “marble-look” tile in a Calacatta finish was used exclusively throughout the entire bathroom.  For what has become the norm at J&J Construction, the smaller, white, cast iron tub was removed and a dramatic, custom shower took its place. Then we placed an extra-large tile wall niche on the back wall of the shower to keep liter-size shampoo bottles organized. Check out the custom frameless glass wall with a two-way swing door. This door keeps the water in the shower and off the floor. It may have taken 40 years, but this bathroom is no longer caught in a time warp.
